Palmetto Bay Exterior Renovation
This residence is originally a mid 1970s home which, while not atypical for the area and time, was over-burdened with an out-of-scale mansard. Our client was wanting a more modern façade so we broke up the three part scheme of the original house so as to create interest, volume, and direction for this design to allow for better identification of the entrance and provide cover where none existed before. By reskinning the outer surfaces of the façade with various depths of light-gauge metal structure we also created depth interest into the design while preserving all the original fenestrations and window. in order to enhance the front door and provide natural light to the stairwell we added the circular window above the doorway.
